In the name of God Amen, the sixth day of August AD 1717 and in the fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God of great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc; I JOHN WINCH of the parish of St Paul Shadwell in the county of Middlesex, mariner, being in health of body and of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be therefore Almighty God, do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say; first I will and appoint that all my just debts and funeral charges and expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied and all and singular my messuages, lands, tenements salary wages monies debts goods chattels and all other my estate whatsoever I give aand bequeath unto my trusty friend William Baily of the parish and county aforesaid, tailor to and for his own use and benefit for ever, and I name and appoint and make the said William Baily sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other wills and do publish and declare these presents to be and contain my last will and testament; in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written – John Winch his mark – sealed signed published and declared in the presence of [Henry Harden, Thomas …]
