In the name of God Amen, the four and twentieth day of September 1666, I MARTHA HATHORNE of the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate London widow being weak and very ill at present though in perfect memory praised be God do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows: First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my creator; and my body to be conveniently buried; and as for what estate I shall leave behind I desire that my executor hereafter named shall receive into his custody as well my household goods as also what rent is now due to me from Thomas Earbury of Hunnichurch [Honeychurch?] in the county of Devon or what shall be hereafter due for what land he holds of mine; and I desire that my said executor shall pay such just and legal debts as I do now owe upon the sale of my goods or receipt of any of the said rent; and I do of this my said last will make and ordain my kinsman JOHN WINCH of the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate aforesaid sole executor; in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written – the mark of the abovesaid Martha Hathornesigned sealed and published in the presence of Robert Winch, Katherine Thomas
