In the name of God Amen: I SALOMON DANN of LAUGHTON in the County of Sussex yeoman being sick and weak of body but in perfect remembrance thanks be given to the Almighty do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following; first I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth from whence it first came and my goods I dispose of as follows: imprimis I give unto the poor people of the parish of Laughton which have most need of relief the sum of ten shillings of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto them by my executor within two months after my decease.  ITEM; I give unto JASPER DANNE my eldest son and his three children WILLIAM DANNE JOHN DANNE and THOMAS DANNE the full sum of fifty pounds of good and lawful money of England within three months after my decease to be equally divided between the said Jasper my son and his three children and one to be another’s heir of the said children if any of them depart this life before they come to age; the said legacy to be paid by my executor.  ITEM; I give unto SALOMON DANNE my grandchild son of the said Jasper the sum of five pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor within half a year after my decease.  ITEM; I give unto JOHN HOADLIE my son in law the sum of twenty shillings of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor within half a year after my decease.  ITEM; I give unto JOHN HOADLIE my grandchild son of the said John Hoadly the sum of ten pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor unto the said John when he shall come to the age of one and twenty years.   ITEM; my will is that if it happen the said John Hoadly my grandchild to depart this life before he come to the age of one and twenty years then the said legacy of ten pounds to be paid (and equally divided by my executor as aforesaid) unto the three sons of Jasper Danne my son, William John and Thomas and one to be another’s heir.  ITEM; all the rest of my goods unbequeathed I give unto JOHN DANNE my son whom I make sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do entreat William Barham of Easthoadligh yeoman and John Tourle of Laughton aforesaid yeoman to be overseers of this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the seven and twentieth day of October AD one thousand six hundred thirty four in the presence of Salomon Danne his mark John Nicholas his mark, Edward Midmore his mark, Nicholas Foster scrivenor
