I Hester Wynch Spinster of the Old Jury in London make this my last Will and Testament Imprimis I commit my soul to God’s Mercy through Jesus Christ and when God shall remove me hence by death dispose of the Goods Chattels and Estate that I am intitled to as followeth. Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother the Reverend Robert Wynch the sum of twenty pounds.Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Youngest Brother William Wynch of the Old Jewry in London my House Messuage or Tenement that is situated on the North side of Leadenhall Street in the Parish of St Andrew’s Undershaft and my Lease from the Wardens and Assistants of Rochester Bridge of my aforesaid House Messuage or Tenement with all my Claims Right or Title whatsoever thereunto. Item I give and devise and bequeath unto my Nephew Alexander Wynch Son of my late Brother John Wynch the sum of fifty pounds. Item I give devise and bequeath unto the Poor the sum of twenty pounds the aforesaid twenty pounds to be distributed to such poor people as my Executor shall chuse. Item I give devise and bequeath unto the servant or servants that shall happen to have the most trouble with me in my sickness the sum of five pounds to be distributed as my Executor shall think best. Item I give devise and bequeath unto Mrs Sarah Andrews of Highgate and unto my cousin Thomas’s of Highgate and unto Mrs Mary Morgan of Bow Lane London to each of them a twenty shilling ring.  I desire to be buried in a very deep grave near the late Miss Elizabeth Morgan in the Keys Burial Ground at Great Chelsea by day light with as little expense as can be  and after my funeral charges are paid and the Legacies that are contained in this my last Will and Testament are paid,  Item I give devise and bequeath the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels and Estate unto my youngest Brother William Wynch aforesaid and I do hereby make constitute and appoint my aforesaid youngest brother William Wynch of the Old Jury in London whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I hereby revoke and make void all Wills by me formerly made. In witness of which and of all things that are contained in this my last Will and Testament I have set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred forty fourHester Wynch – signed sealed published and declared in the presence of us Magd Harley John Harley

 

Probate 21/6/1754This Will was proved at London the twenty first day of June in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty four before the worshipful Arthur Colier Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissory of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Wynch the Brother of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased being first sworn duly to administer.

Memorandm that Hester WYNCH late of Chelsea, Spinster died possessed of ten pounds three percent Annuity Stock Anno 1726 and by her last will and testament dated 29th September 1744 she constituted and appointed her brother William WYNCH sole executor and she having made no mention of this £10 stock in her said will it is at his disposal (NB., she is described in the will of the Old Jury within the Probate of St John’s Hackney.
