In the name of God Amen.  I John Wynch citizen and haberdasher of London being at this present somewhat indisposed but of sound and perfect mynd and memory praised be God for the same considering the frailty of mankind and the uncertainty of this life and knowing that nothing is more certain than death and nothing more uncertain than the time thereof hereby revoking all former and other wills by me made doe make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following. That is to say ffirst and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator trusting and assuredly believing through the Merrite Death and Passion and Resurrection of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have free pardon and remission of all my sinne and after this life is ended to inherit everlasting Joy and Happiness in the Kingdome of Heaven.  And my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the direction of my Executor hereinafter named. And as touching all such Estate as well reall and personall which it hath pleased the Lord of his mercy to make mee a Disposer of I doe gyve devise bequeath settle order and dispose of the same in manner and forme following. That is to say Imprimis I give devise and bequeath all those my two messuages or tenements with th’appurtenances situate lying and being in Grub Street in the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate London now in the generall tenure or occupation of mee the said John Wynch and Nicholas Duncomb unto my deare and loving wife Susanna Wynch for and during the terme of her naturall life subject nevertheless to the proviso hereafter mentioned. And after her decease I doe give devise and bequeath my said two messuages or tenements with th’appurtenances unto my sonn Robert Wynch forever.  Item I give devise and bequeath all that my messuage or tenanement with th’appurtenances now in th’occupation of Robert Markham or his assigns situate lying and being in Ffleete Streete in the Parish of St Dunstans in the West London and all that the messuage or tenement with th’appurtenances now in th’occupation of Robert Fole or his assigns situate lying and being at Bride Lane and in Ffleete Streete in the Parish of St Brides alias Bridgett London unto my said loving wife Susanna Wynch for and during the terme of her naturall life subject nevertheless to the proviso hereafter expressed.  I also give and bequeath unto my said wife Susanna Wynch the summe of one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one yeare after my decease together with the moyety of all my goods household stuff plate linen and woollen subject nevertheless to the proviso hereafter mentioned.  That is to say provided nevertheless and my will and mind is that if my said wife Susanna Wynch doe not within  three months after my decease release in due forme of law unto my said sonn Robert Wynch his heirs executors or assigns all her thirde customary part and have dower right and title dower clayme and demand of in and to my reall and personall estate (other than what I have given her by this my will) which she can may might or ought to have or clayme by the laws of this nation the custome of the City of London or otherwise that then and such that I give all and every the legacy and legacies by me given unto my said wife unto my said sonn Robert Wynch his heirs executors and assigns to his and their own proper use.  Item I give devise and bequeath all that my messuage or tenanment with th’appurtenances situate lying and being upon St Mary Hill in the Parish of St Mary at Hill London late in th’occupation of William Reynolds or his assigns unto my said sonn Robert Wynch to have and to hold the same unto my said sonn Robert Wynch his heirs executors and assigns to his and theire own proper uses.  Item I give and bequeath unto my sonn in law William Waltam the summe of two hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him within ffour years after my decease.  I also give and bequeath unto his sonn John Waltam and to his daughter Anne Waltam tenn pounds a piece and to his three daughters Susan Sarah and Mary Waltam ffyve pounds a piece to be paid unto theire fathers hande for their use within ffour yeares after my decease and his receipt shall be unto my executor a full discharge for the same.  Item I give and bequeath unto my sonn in law Charles Harper the summe of two hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him within ffour years after my decease.  And I give to his daughter Susan Harper ffyve pounds to be paid into her father’s hands for her use within ffour years after my decease and his receipt shall be unto my executor a full discharge for the same.  Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchildren John Burt and Susan Burt ffyfty pounds a piece to be paid them at theire respective ages of one and twenty yeares or dayes of marriage which shall first happen.  Item I give devise and bequeath unto my loving brother William Wynch one annuity or yearly payment of six pounds a yeare to be paid unto him quarterly for and during the terme of his naturall life at the four usuall quarter days in the yeare the first quarters payment to begin and to be made on such of the quarter days as shall happen after my decease.  Item I give devise and bequeath unto my loving sister Judith Etheridge wife of William Etheridge one annuity or yearly payment of tenn pounds a yeare to be paid unto her quarterly for and during the terme of her naturall life at the four usuall quarter days in the yeare the first quarters payment to begin and to be made on such of the quarter days as shall happen after my decease.  Item I give and bequeath to the Governors of St Bartholemews Hospitall the summe of twenty pounds for the use of the poore there.  Item I give and bequeath to the poore of the Parish of St Brides alias Bridgett London where I formerly lyved the summe of five pounds to be paid and distributed amongst them within one yeare after my decease; I also give and bequeath to the poore of the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate the summe of ffyve pounds to be paid and distributed amongst them within one yeare after my decease.  Item I give and bequeath unto Sir Thomas Player, Knight, Mr Robert Harbin, Clerk of the Chamber Mr Samuell Kendall Mr Richard Jarvis my cozen John Jacksonmy cozen William Wynch haberdasher in Tower Streete my cozen Edmond Wynch and Daniell Man twenty shillings a piece to buy them rings to weare in remebrancce of mee.  All the rest and residue of all and singular my goods chattells household stuff plate rings leases mortgages and other my estate not before by this my will disposed of I doe give devise and bequeath unto my said sonn Robert Wynch whome I make ordeyne constitute and appoint full and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said John Wynch have to this my last Will and Testament sett my hand and seale the ffyfteenth day of April Anno Dom 1675 and in the seaven and twentieth yeare of the raigne of our Sovereigne lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scottland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith – John Wynch – Signed sealed published declared and delivered by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament the day of the date hereof after the interlining of the words betwixt the thirteenth and ffowerteeenth lynes (Subject nevertheless to the proviso hereafter mentioned) in the presence of Nicholas Duncombe Anthony Tanner Junior and Edmond Wynch Sir George Wastfeld his servant.
