In the name of God Amen; the nineteenth day of December in the year of our Lord God according to the computation of the Church of England One Thousand Six Hundred and Eighteen [1618] and in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord James by the grace of God of England France and Ireland king defender of the faith etc the sixteenth and of Scotland the one and fiftieth, I ROBERT WYNCHE of Bray in the county of Berk yeoman being of good and perfect memory, I thank Almighty God for it, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: that is to say; first and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God  my creator and merciful redeemer trusting by the merits of Jesus Christ to be saved and to be partaker of a blessed and joyful resurrection; and my body I commit to the earth from whence it came to be buried in the Parish Church of Bray as near unto the place where my late loving wife ANN was buried as conveniently as may be in such decent sort as to my executrix hereafter named shall be thought fit.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto the poor people of the Parish of Bray aforesaid the sum of three pounds in money and likewise unto the poor people of the Parish of Cookham the sum of forty shillings which several sums I will shall be distributed amongst them at their houses at the discretion of my executrix and overseers hereafter named within one month next after my death.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto SYMON WYNCHE my eldest son all that my messuage or tenement situate and being at or near Bray Wicke within the parish of Bray aforesaid and all those thirteen acres of arable land thereunto belonging lying at Wickfield to have and to hold the same unto the same Symon his heirs and assigns to the use of him and of his heirs and assigns for ever.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto RICHARD WYNCHE my second son, ROBERT WYNCHE my third son and JAMES WYNCHE my fourth son to every of them the several sums of forty shillings apiece to be paid unto them within one year next after my death.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto WILLIAM WYNCHE my fifth son the sum of forty pounds in money to be paid unto him at his full age of one and twenty years.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto RICHARD WYNCHE my sixth son the sum of one hundred pounds in money to be likewise paid to him at his full age of one and twenty years.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto JOHN WYNCHE my seventh son all that my messuage tenement or Inn situate and being at Maidenhead within the Parish of Bray called the White Horse and one acre of arable land lying in Wickfield aforesaid which I late bought and purchased to me and my heirs of my brother RICHARD WYNCHE to have and to hold the same unto the said John Wynche my son and to his heirs to the use of him and his heirs forever.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto GEORGE WYNCHE my eighth son the sum of threescore and six pounds 8s and 4d in money to be paid unto him at his full age of one and twenty years.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto ELIZABETH my daughter the wife of THOMAS GROVE the sum of forty shillings in money.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto GRACE my daughter the wife of WILLIAM LEWYN the like sum of forty shillings.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto ANN my daughter the wife of ROBERT GROAVE the like sum of forty shillings.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto MARY my daughter the wife of WILLIAM GROAVE the like sum of forty shillings all which said several legacies of xLs so given to my said four daughters before named I will shall be paid unto them within one year next after my death.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto JOANE my daughter the sum of threescore pounds of current English money to be paid unto her at her full age of xxi years or day of marriage which shall first happen.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto JUDITH my daughter the sum of sum of threescore and six pounds 13s and 4d in money to be paid her at the full age of xxi years or day of marriage which shall first happen.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto every of my children’s children xLs apiece to be paid unto them at their several ages of xxi years or several days of marriage which shall first happen.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto the said JOANE my wife all those my two tenements situate and being at Northetowne within the Parish of Cookham aforesaid and four acres of land thereunto belonging which I lately bought and purchased to me and my heirs of one William Osborne to have and to hold the same unto the said Joane my wife for and during her natural life and from and after the decease of my said wife I then give and bequeath the same two tenements and four acres of land unto my said son William Wynche and to his heirs to the use of him and of his heirs forever.  ITEM; I give and bequeath unto every of my menservants and maidservants which shall be in service with me at the time of my decease the sum of 6s and 8d apiece over and above such wages as shall be then due unto them to be paid within six months next after my death.  All the residue of my goods and chattels as well moveable and unmoveable (my debts being paid my funerals discharged and this my last will and testament in all things duly performed I do wholly give and bequeath unto the said Joane my wife whom I ordain and make to be the sole executrix of this my last will and testament; and overseers of the same my last will I desire and appoint my loving friends William Mowntayne of Boveney gent and George Bysshopp of Bray yeoman desiring them to be aiding and assisting unto my said wife that this my will may be duly performed in all things according to my true meaning and to each of them for their pains therein to be taken I give ten shillings apiece. In witness whereof I have thereunto set my hand and seal being two sheets of paper and to each sheet have subscribed my name the day and year first above written – Robert WincheEdward Cranshew, Symon Winche, Humfrie Beckley, George Bishopp, Hughe Hill
